YMCA has provided me with incredible opportunities through national camps<\/strong>, allowing me to meet new people from diverse backgrounds and languages.<\/p>

The Sattal camp<\/strong>, organized by YMCA New Delhi, was an unforgettable experience. Through team-building games and exercises<\/strong>, we learned the importance of teamwork<\/strong> in a fun and engaging way. We also participated in a cultural program<\/strong>, where we explored the folk dances and songs of various cultures<\/strong>. The fearless night treks and hiking<\/strong> helped us connect deeply with nature and appreciate the natural order of things<\/strong>. Not to mention, the breathtaking valley of Nainital and its beautiful sightseeing spots<\/strong> added to the magic of the experience.<\/p>

Another memorable experience was a family camp in Leh Ladakh<\/strong>, which not only strengthened our bonds<\/strong> but also enlightened us about the region\u2019s cultural heritage<\/strong>. Our stay at YHAI Hostel Leh<\/strong> was exceptionally pleasant, with great hospitality. We visited Shri Patthar Sahib Gurudwara<\/strong> and several local monasteries rich in history and peace<\/strong>. The heavenly views and the cool breeze of Pangong Tso<\/strong> remain unforgettable. Family camps like these not only bring families closer but also offer a deeper understanding of history and culture.<\/strong><\/p>

On the 150th anniversary of YMCA<\/strong>, YMCA Trivandrum organized a camp for the YMCAs of Central India<\/strong>. Here, we learned about the history of India\u2019s first YMCA and the establishment of YMCA in India<\/strong>. We visited Palayam<\/strong>, where St. Joseph\u2019s Church, Juma Mosque, and Ganapati Temple<\/strong> stand together around a single square\u2014a beautiful symbol of unity. YMCA Trivandrum\u2019s spice farm<\/strong> helped us appreciate the local efforts toward organic farming<\/strong>. We also got an insightful glimpse into the lives of fishermen<\/strong>, and with so many stunning beaches and churches<\/strong>, the Madre De Deus Church<\/strong> stood out with its heavenly presence at Vettukadu Beach<\/strong>.<\/p>

YMCA New Bhedaghat<\/strong> also organizes regional camps, treks, and hikes<\/strong> that are fun, eco-friendly, and adventurous<\/strong>. I am Dr. Lovely Thakur from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. I have been a proud member of YNB since 2020 and have actively participated in their weekly and monthly programs. As an adventure enthusiast, I have always been passionate about trekking, hiking, and camping. Through YNB, I have had the opportunity to take part in incredible experiences such as the River Side Walk, Rainforest Walk, Sleep Under the Stars,<\/strong> and many other thrilling adventure activities.<\/p>

Recently, I had the chance to join the NYCI program at Leh-Ladakh<\/strong> in association with Youth Hostel. The journey was nothing short of extraordinary! My YMCA experience<\/strong> has been far better than I ever imagined. From weekly treks<\/strong> to regional activities and camps<\/strong>, and even national and international programs<\/strong>, I have enjoyed every moment to the fullest. Whether it was having fun with teammates and friends<\/strong> or receiving guidance from highly knowledgeable mentors<\/strong>, every experience has been invaluable.<\/p>

I have grown in so many ways\u2014from performing my first-ever dance<\/strong> (which I didn\u2019t even know we were doing until an hour before!) to sharing my experiences on the mic in front of hundreds of people<\/strong>. I have learned teamwork and leadership<\/strong> while also gaining a deeper understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the younger generation<\/strong> in shaping the future.<\/p>

After joining YMCA New Bhedaghat<\/strong>, I have learned, enjoyed, and truly lived<\/strong>. Now, I\u2019m always excited for the next YMCA activity because I love every part of it!<\/p>

My YMCA Journey: A Transformative Experience<\/strong><\/p>

My journey with YMCA<\/strong> began in 2020<\/strong> with a trekking program hosted by YNB near Jabalpur<\/strong>. This experience was not just an adventure but a stepping stone into the world of leadership and community engagement<\/strong>. As a volunteer<\/strong>, I had the privilege of guiding fellow trekkers<\/strong>, ensuring their safety and motivation to complete the trek. Successfully completing the entire season gave me a newfound sense of responsibility and confidence<\/strong>.<\/p>

Following this, I had the opportunity to participate in the CIR Youth Assembly, held on the banks of the sacred Narmada River<\/strong>. This event deepened my understanding of the NCYI (National Council of YMCAs of India) program<\/strong> and its impactful initiatives. With continued involvement and dedication, I was selected for the prestigious NCYI National Program Youth Leadership Camp in Shillong<\/strong>. This experience was nothing short of transformative<\/strong>. I met the extended NCYI family<\/strong>, engaged with esteemed officials<\/strong>, and participated in exhilarating activities like trekking, camping, and sightseeing<\/strong>.<\/p>

The next milestone in my journey was an honor beyond expectations<\/strong>\u2014I was selected to be a part of APAY (Asia and Pacific Alliance of YMCAs) held in Chennai<\/strong>. This was my first-ever international conference<\/strong>, where representatives from various Asian countries<\/strong> gathered to discuss and collaborate on youth empowerment initiatives<\/strong>. Representing NYCI (YMCA India)<\/strong> on such a grand stage was both a privilege and a learning experience<\/strong>. I formed lasting friendships with people from different countries<\/strong>, broadening my perspective and strengthening my belief in global unity<\/strong>.<\/p>

After returning from APAY<\/strong>, my enthusiasm for YMCA programs<\/strong> only grew. I continued to actively participate in local events<\/strong>, leading to my selection for another esteemed NCYI National Program\u2014HARBINGER OF CHANGE, held in Ooty, Karnataka<\/strong>. This platform reinforced my leadership skills<\/strong> and allowed me to contribute further to the YMCA community<\/strong>.<\/p>

Reflecting on my journey, I am immensely grateful to YNB<\/strong> for shaping me into the person I am today. The experiences, connections, and lessons gained through YMCA<\/strong> have been invaluable. I strongly encourage all youth to become members of YNB<\/strong>, as it provides unparalleled opportunities for personal growth, national-level trekking, and international exposure<\/strong>. Hey, I am Kush Sharma<\/strong>, and I have always been fascinated by trekking and exploration<\/strong>. My journey began with YMCA\u2019s Rainforest Walk \u2013 Season 2<\/strong>. It started at 4 a.m. on a Sunday<\/strong> with Trek 1<\/strong>, and I went on to participate in five out of six treks<\/strong>, giving it my heart and soul<\/strong>.<\/p>

During these events, I was thrilled to be selected for YMCA\u2019s National Camp in Kerala<\/strong>. The camp at St. Marthoma Church on Ashtamudi Lake<\/strong> provided an incredible opportunity to connect with fellow adventurers from across India<\/strong> while immersing myself in the breathtaking beauty of Kerala<\/strong>. The experiences, memories, and bonds formed during this time will be cherished for a lifetime<\/strong>.<\/p>

After the camp, we explored Kanyakumari<\/strong>, witnessing the stunning views of the Indian Ocean<\/strong>. HARAMBEE: Pulling Together for Leadership and Action<\/strong><\/h3>

The word \u201cHarambee\u201d<\/strong> means \u201call pull together\u201d<\/strong> and perfectly encapsulated the spirit of my Kerala (Kollam) National Camp<\/strong>, where I was selected based on my performance in Rainforest Walk \u2013 Season 2<\/strong>.<\/p>

The National Council of YMCAs of India<\/strong> organized the National Youth Leadership Camp<\/strong>, titled \u201cHarambee: Youth for Collective Leadership and Action\u201d (2024)<\/em>, for young full members. This prestigious event was hosted by the Southwest India Region of YMCAs<\/strong>.<\/p>

Kerala, famously known as \u201cGod\u2019s Own Country,\u201d<\/strong> welcomed us with its breathtaking beauty. We stayed at Mar Thoma Dhyanatheeram in Perungalam, Kollam<\/strong>, surrounded by the serene Ashtamudi Lake<\/strong>. Here, we not only learned and enjoyed<\/strong> but also created unforgettable memories<\/strong>.<\/p>

During the educational sessions<\/strong>, we explored topics such as collective leadership, the challenges faced by youth, and case studies of impactful youth movements<\/strong> through engaging discussions, activities, and interactive sessions<\/strong>.<\/p>

Beyond the classroom, we embraced the natural beauty of Ashtamudi Lake<\/strong> through boat rides<\/strong>, ventured into mangroves<\/strong>, and came together for campfires, music, and dance<\/strong>. We also savored Kerala\u2019s local delicacies<\/strong> and built strong friendships with people from across India.<\/p>

This trip to Kerala will always hold a special place in my heart<\/strong>\u2014not just for the stunning landscapes<\/strong> we explored but for the invaluable experiences and lessons<\/strong> I took home.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
